It's a terrible confession to make as a pastor, but I really struggle with reading. I have a pile of unread books on my shelf. It's one reason I enrolled in further study - to force me to read. I blame Bible college for it, I was an avid reader before then, but I guess I need to take responsibility for it somewhere!

But I recently bought an iPod and in the last month I've probably 'read' more than I have in the past year (not counting reading for study). It's great for out on the road or going for my morning walk. It's connected me with some classics I would probably never have read otherwise. I just read Augustine's 'On Christian Doctrine'. That put a few things in context!

So if you're like me and struggle to find the time or inclination to read, use the that thing wired to your ears for more than music. I you haven't discovered them already, I'd recommend audio books.

Christianaudio.com is a great resource for Christian books. Sign up for their monthly newsletter and you'll be able to download a free monthly audiobook. Audible.com is another resource, although they don't have the depth of Christian material that Christianaudio.com has (but reading more broadly is the next step for me, I guess).
