Not usual that a average sized Baptist church in Adelaide would have national exposure to lead people to its website.
Unfortunately it is usual that the website would not be a great example.
Evangelist 'Sy Rogers' has been encouraging young people to abstain from kissing before marriage. (Story)
Now we could unpack that for a while.
But my point is that the article pointed people to Enfield Baptist Church's website.

It is a shame that some basic stuff was not understood in the implementation of this site. I don't want to pick on them unnececarily, but it is a bit of a mess with underlined words, scattered illogical placing of events and notices.
Looks like a great church, doing some great things, but a website very important in how we present ourselves in the 'marketplace'.

Hi, I enjoy reading your blog :)
Not sure highlighting deficits in churches will ultimately benefit anyone. Just my thoughts.
I flicked onto the site, I do agree, but the reality is so many churches are small and do not have people available to them to really do a fantastic website, or they just don't have knowledge/funds to get it all up and running well.
Like you, I think they look like they are doing some gr8 stuff and hope they continue to grow.
I agree with you Cush...about the critical stuff...and I hesitated before posting this, because I did not want to be misunderstood.
People who know me well, know that I a huge champion of the local church, and am rarely critical of other churches, in fact, I am often criticised for not being 'critical enough'.
But in this case, with such national exposure anyway, I thought it a good enough lesson to say it.
And I have actually sent what I hope is a nice email to the church involved, encouraging them, and explaining to them my thoughts..
Thanks for your comment.
Hey good on you for emailing them.....that will be great feedback for them :), maybe they can give it to there 'creator' -will be interesting to see if they are able to make the changes.
I must have been under a rock not to get the national exposure lol....and its in my own town too.
I have never seen you criticise anyone on your blog, and really enjoy it. So do keep up the good work.
Hi again :)
I just clicked on your link to the newspaper article....OMG!
I think the sad thing is they have somehow made the story massive for this small church, when really, the HUGE churches have had him through preaching heaps lately. Maybe they have had a bit of a slogging too...i best crawl out from this rock.
I wonder what made them pick on Enfield Baptist? Suppose we will never know.
